Street Rankings 2007 for the West Midlands

The Mouseprice.com Annual Street Rankings 2007 today reveal several streets in the West Midlands as having average property values of over £1million.

The Sutton Coldfield area, to the north of Birmingham (Postcode district B74) dominates the top of the rankings, with Luttrell Road as the most expensive area with an average property value of £1,350,283. Roman Grange, Squirrel Walk, Jervis Park and Roman Road, also in B74, all appear in the top 10 most expensive streets in the West Midlands.

The West Midland’s most expensive properties tend to follow two significant trends. Either, as with B74, it centres on the suburbs of Birmingham, the largest city in the West Midlands area. Or the survey shows the wealthy residents of the region living in much more rural surroundings, specifically in the commuter villages and hamlets surrounding Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick, namely CV31,CV32,CV35,CV36 and CV37. This includes Loxley and Ettington, as well as the Tiddington Road, recently dubbed “Millionaires Row” of Stratford-upon-Avon. Barnt Green (B45), lies a similar distance from the centre but on the opposite side of the city from Sutton Coldfield. As with postcode district B74, the proximity of B45 to central Birmingham makes it an excellent commuter district. B45 accounts for 7 of the most exclusive streets in the Top 100 for the region and B15, Edgbaston, another ideal commuter suburb lying to the east, accounts for 10.

The western suburbs in the direction of Solihull also account for a significant proportion of the most expensive streets with B91, B93, B94 and B95 providing a cumulative contribution of a fifth of the most exclusive streets in the Top 100.
